How to get office 2 rollover lines to work?
I currently have 2 rollover lines at my office with Verizon. I bought a phone with 2 lines. In the back of the phone, there are 3adaptors. 1st adaptor label “Line1/Line2″. 2nd adaptor label “Line2″. 3rd adaptor label “data”. I bought a duplex adaptor for the Phone Wall jack which has line1, line2, and line1/line2. I tried all kind of combinations but has no luck getting the 2nd line to ring. Can someone explain to me how to get rollover line to work? Do I have to get a PBX box to get this to work?

if your jack is wired with both phone lines in it, then you just need a line cord with 4 conductors connected between the jack and the phone port labled line1/line2 – check the part of the cord that plugs into the jack, there should be 4 metal contacts… if there are only 2 then this is only a single line cord…
if you have 2 seperate jacks (one for each phone number) then plug a line cord from the jack with the dial tone for line 1 into the port on the phone that says line1/line2… then another cord for the second dial tone into the line 2 port of your phone…. be aware however if your jack has line 2 in it and you connect dialtone to the line 2 port of your phone it will usually short out the line….
the Data Port on the back of the phone is so that you can connect a fax machine, or additional phone or something else into the dial tone (many phones will even have a switch for you to choose if line 1 or line 2 will be connected to the data port….
rollover – or call hunting (or forward on busy) needs to be programed from the telephone office, where if you call line 1 and it is busy it will hunt to line 2 etc….
