Headset Microphone

My headset microphone is hardly hearing me at all! What to do?

I have a headset that is kind of old, so I figured that might be the problem, but I just bought a new headset and still the microphone hardly hears me. if i record myself talking, i can BARELY hear myself when i play it back. is there some kind of microphone recording sensitivity thing i can change for my computer?? (windowsxphome)

You can open the volume control from the Taskbar (near the system clock) or Click Start-> Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Volume Control.

Under this click Options->Properties.

Select the Input Device and Recording option.

Ensure the volume for microphone is maximized.

Additionally, try to test the microphone on some other PC / Laptop to ensure it is fine.
