We have been using VoIP for several years and have also shared the benefits of using VoIP with many of our clients in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Below are our top reasons why we like VoIP:

You can move office easily

When you move office you simply unplug your VoIP phones and plug them in to your new broadband connection. The same number works and you don’t have to worry about switch overs etc.

You can have staff working in different locations

With hosted VoIP telephones, you can have staff working wherever they like. They simply need to plug their VoIP phone in to their broadband connection and voila everything works. You are also all connected with all the facilities that a traditional telephone exchange would provide in your office. You can transfer calls between each other with ease and additionally quickly setup conference calls.

You can have many area codes

It is very easy to create numbers which make it look like you have offices all over the world. You can answer the calls in all those locations, one or two of those or in one central location. Clients think they are calling a local company.

You never miss a call

How to Create a VoIP Account

Setting up a VoIP account is incredibly easy. Below is the check list of items you need to get going with VoIP:

1. A reliable broadband connection – Without a reliable broadband connection you will not be able to make VoIP calls. A good recommendation would be a broadband speed of over 1MB. For people who want more than VoIP connection, it is best to have an expert advise if your broadband is capable.
2. A VoIP account with a reliable service provider. They should be able to port existing numbers and additionally create new numbers for you in the areas that you want to do business.
3. A VoIP softphone which runs on your computer and a reliable good quality headset.
4. A VoIP hard phone which operates just like a normal telephone handset.

Cost

VoIP calls are usually cheaper than normal telephone calls. Line rental is generally cheaper than regular telephones. You end up paying less for VoIP and getting many more features than you would usually have with a regular Telephone Line.
